Warrior Work
Week 15
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. Don't make assumptions.

Have you ever stopped to reflect on how many assumptions we make without even being aware we are making them? Anyone who has had tragedy
strike their life in the form of a loved one dying becomes aware that we often take the people around us for granted. Anyone who has a sudden
health challenge sees how we assume health is our natural state. The pictogram for warrior is an axe that's falling on your health, family, community,
business, relationships etc. The warrior is aware of that axe and works at fostering reverence for life in all it's forms because they "know" we are here
for a short time (although it may feel like eternity if you are focused inward on your self). I find not making assumptions a great challenge on a daily
basis because it goes hand in hand with communicating clearly, challenging others to communicate clearly so we become more impeccable with our
words, not taking things personally (we become more detached and objective) and not jumping to conclusions based on our fears or desires at the
time. Assumptions and expectations set us up for an emotional roller coaster ride that goes up and down based on the events happening around us
instead of the processes within us.
This week reflect as you move throughout your day how often an assumption is made that throws things out of whack. When it happens, point it out to
yourself or others, re-clarify your goals and move forward. Don't let it derail the rest of your day and don't assume that because something "bad"
happened that nothing "good" can follow. The world is an amazing place and everything can change in an instant. Nurture your inner and outer skills,
your spirit, your will and your health so you can face whatever comes with an inner peace that transcends external events.

What lies behind you and what lies before you is nothing compared to what lies within you.
